I finally got some time to scrap. It was much needed and I really enjoyed playing with my long lost friends, paper and glue.

The first couple lo's weren't the greatest, but they are done, so I am not complaining.

I then decided to scraplift a lo from the Aug? CK magazine and use a page map for the second one.

I finally found my mojo again, and these are what I came up with from it.

It's been awhile since I've created anything. Just can't seem to find the time to use all of my scrap crap. I also made this winning LO at FH2S I couldn't post it to my blog at first, but now I can do so.

I have to say that I had to limit myself to only one kit from now on. I just don't have the time to use the three kits I was getting and I already have a boat load of things in my scrappy room to use, so I canceled all but one. :( Anyway, enjoy.

Once again, I am using sketches, the Santa's Helper is from Got Sketch, the other page is just something I threw together. The pp is from Making Memories along with the acrylic christmas shapes, a nice birthday present from Vanessa Buzard. Thank you again. I finally got to scrap. I have had to resort to using sketches to get pages done, but at least I am playing again. This is a Pencilines sketch, and the pp is from a Scrapbook Room kit, Nov or Dec. can't really remember which and Making Memories Fa La La La pp that I received from Vanessa Buzard as a birthday present.

I made these a few weeks ago, just haven't made the time to scan and upload them until today.

The first one is DD at the swimming pool in Glenwood Springs. I was attempting to do the white space challenge at SBTO, but it didn't happen. I used Jenni Bowlin pp, the frame and label are Bam Pop, along with Primas and HS bling. I also used flock on the CB title.

The second layout I started over a year ago. I put it aside because I didn't know where I was going with it, and just happened upon it a few weeks ago, when I was scrapping with my friend Erica. I was going through some boxes of pp that I was getting rid of and found this two pager waiting patiently to be completed.

I used an old 06 Club Scrap kit, along with TH grunge board stars and Prima bling. Not sure that I like the end result, but at least it is finished.

Itching to Create

The day after we got back from our mini vacation, I had the hankering to scrap and this is how the end result of that desperate need ended up looking like. I used August's Scrapbook Obsessions kit, primas, stickles, Diasy D's rub on, vinyl thickers and my SU rolodex punch and my Fiskers border punch. This is going into her baby book, and I plan on making a page for the 3rd trimester as it progresses. TFL

For Rina, By Her Request

Rina sent the black board piece and asked me to "pretty it up" and send it back to her. I hope that I did it justice and didn't ruin her book. I used the TH crackle paint on the CB piece, I really liked how it dried, pretty cool looking. The butterflies do have some sparkle to them, I outlined them with my Copic glitter pens, but it's kind of hard to see in the photo.

I finished this layout for Wheelie about his new nickname. I used the July Scrapbook Obsessions kit and some random things from my ever increasing stash.

I really liked using the 12" rubon that came in the kit, I need to find more of these.

Mojo's Finally Returning

My creativity has been on hiatus for quite awhile now, but I managed to get two lo's done in the last week. Pretty impressive for me.

This first layout is my DD and my furkids. I have jokingly told my DD that she is my tester/guinea kid, and that now I know what/what not to do with the new baby that is coming. The dachsies act like toddlers sometimes, so they fall under the tester label also. I used Scarlet Lime's June kit.

The second one is the 20 weeks US photos of the baby. I used an older Scrap Magie kit, the pp is BG two scoops, along with MM Ava Artisian Edge pp, Prima CB alphas, Primas, bling, and other odds and ends from stash.

Old Layouts with Stitching for Rina

I sketched the flowers in chalk on black satin, backed with stablilizer and adhered to the white CS. Then I used my sewing machine to fill in the flowers. I didn't like the final result too much, but my friend in the photo loved it.

Here I sketched the stems onto the CS and then used the machine to sew them in on the page.

8 Week US Layout

I finished this layout finally, it took some time to get done because my sewing machine was being difficult.

PP's are BG's Two Scoops and Imaginisce Baby Powder. I found the male/female symbol in my clipart and then handcut three pieces of the symbol. This way it would be very sturdy when I filled it in with stitching. I also stitched the pp circles to the background page and used some stitching on the ribbon, added some Primas and used brown Doodlebug flocking in the centers.

Light House Birthday Card

This is for DF's step dad. Products used were Stampin Up stamps, watercolor pencils, BG pp, Bazzill, and BG rub ons, along with my Cuttlebug. I used watercolor on the cs and then ran it through by Cbug, then blended with water and brush. I also colored in the open spaces of the rub on with wc pencil and blended. It's a simple card and I hope he likes it.

Not sure that I like it, but oh well.

Stamp is from TAC, I colored it in using my oil pencils and then rubbed baby oil over it with a cotton ball to blend, then I used stickles to jazz up the words, cut up the HS silk flowers and attached, along with orange stickles, that is the part of the card that I am unsure about whether I like it or not. I think everything else is okay but that single detail. I used a sketch from "sketches by Tamara"

Latest Father's Day Cards

I finally finished a few more cards the last couple of days. I broke out my SU stamps, ink, CS and went to town. I also either used my watercolor pencils or crayons to color in the two deer, along with my glitter copic pens (love those). I liked the way they turned out, but I hate my scanner because it makes them look ugly!
The moose card has the moose, and two of the trees as dimensional, it's hard to see in the scan. My vision was to make it appear at though the sun was shining directly towards them, thus, the shadow moose and the gold shine on the trees, not sure if I pulled it off or not, but it works for me. Let me know what you think. :D

Still Poking Along

trying to get cards made. I am trying to use my stamps that I have all over the place, so that I don't have guilt about them sitting there unused. There are a few young kid birthdays that are coming up for my family here in the next couple of months, so I decided to make the following cards just for them.

They aren't super spectacular, but they will get the job done. I have to get my butt in gear and finish up the father's day cards in the next couple of days. I totally missed Mother's day, so I have to get father's day done.

Stamped Cards

I was able to find time to play with my stamps yesterday. I made this father's day card using the patterned paper from my May Scrap Heaven kit and my Papertrey Ink, Pond Life stamps. I also used my gliter copic pens to accent the ink colors on both the pond swirl and the duck, but it's a little hard to see from the scanned photo.

I used two sets for this card from Papertrey Ink, the Pond Life and Busy Bees. Again, I used my Copic glitter pens, but you can't really see it unless you look at it IRL. The patterned paper is from the Daisy D's Wonder Years collection. The butterfly, dragonfly, and frog are dimensional, but obviously, the scanner squished them flat.

Another One Down, One Million to Go...

I finished another lo that I started on Tuesday, this is for my nephew's baby book, that realistically should have been completed last summer. Classes and life got in the way, so hopefully, it will be finished for his birthday this summer. When his parents send me more photos than I will do my part.

I used Daisy D's Wonderland collection for it, which came in my Bad Girls and Poppy Ink kits. What can I say, I am a kit junkie, I love kits. I cut out the banner and sewed it onto the backround patterned paper with my sewing machine. I also used stickles to outline the clouds.

I think I will work on making cards next. I miss my stamps and I need to give them some attention.

This is a father's day present that I am using as a box to hold a bigger present. I altered the wooden box with metal tape, then texturized it with my TH hammer, rubbed black stazon ink all over to tone down the shine and added the metal bolts and nuts, along with the tools. My intent was for it to look like a miniture version of a tool box. Hope I did it justice, it was sort of hard to get a good photo of it. It definitely looks much better IRL.

no, I'm not talking about food. I mean that I finally found my scrapping mojo again. I made another new layout over the last week, this time I used a lot of sparkly stuff and cut out flowers from two sheets of patterned paper. I used the May kit "a day at the office" which can be found here at Scrap Heaven. This is the layout that I came up with using the kit.

I decided to try something different with my silk flowers, so I cut them apart and used the single petals as a border at the bottom. I really like how it turned out, but I had a heck of a time trying to get the petals to stay where I put them. They refused to cooperate, which means I almost didn't use them, but in the end they conceded to my wishes.

Rekindling my Relationship...

with my scrap supplies. Now that classes are over and done, I decided to live on the wild side and stay up late friday night to work on a LO. I started this and then finished it up on Monday afternoon. I desaturated the smaller photos about 75%,I wanted them to be lighter than the main photo, but not black and white. I like the way it came out. I've never tried a round LO before either, so I gave it a whirl. It was a pain in the butt to scan and stitch together, so please excuse the funky picture.

I have a few other creations in the works, I play a little here and there, in between running the girl to her million dance classes, and cleaning up my much neglected scrap room, but I hope to have them completed in the next couple of days.

New Beginnings

I decided to create a blog solely for my scrap creations. I plan on submitting my layouts and cards for publishing and thought that it would be best to keep photos of people who do not want themselves all over the internet on my personal blog, separate from my creations.
I will post the most recent layout that I have made. I hope to get more completed as soon as my classes are over the first part of May. Then I will have all the time in the world since I won't be taking classes again until six months after the baby is born.

I read this challenge on a scrapbook board that I belong to online. The requirements were to use as many brads and eyelets as possible on a layout. Well, I have a gazillion of these little babies, so I decided to give it a shot. If you click on the photo, you can get a closer look at the detail.

The first layout I made was of Caela modeling the Tinkerbell shirts, etc. that she has received. The total count of brads and eyelets are 870.

Well, Caela then triple dog dared me to do a layout with 1000. We all know what it means to be triple dog dared into something, so I couldn't pass it up. I told her I would do her 1000 and then add on 500 more, just to prove I could. This is the result of my hard labor. I ended up surpassing the amount for a total of 1900 eyelets and brads.

Here is a close up of the flowers that I made using stamps and watercolor paints, I used the eyelets to follow the stamped design and then assembled the petals into the flowers you see.

The contest ended on Sunday, Feb. 17th, I WON!! All I know is that I won't be touching another brad or eyelet for a little while, so I hope my prize has nothing to do with them. LOL
I remembered fairly quick why I ended up having so many of them. They are a pain in the butt to set, especially the super teeny tiny ones. Good thing I like repetition and that I have a lot of patience. lol

Holy High Definition Batman!!

I never realized how many different types of digital camcorders are out there. I have been doing some research on them and now have a dazed and confused look on my face. I used some wonderful Christmas/Birthday gifts from my friend Vanessa B, the blonde California one. FYI, I have two friends named Vanessa B, the only difference between the first names is an "S". Very confusing sometimes, I have to proofread whenever I am writing to either of them. Okay, that was probably TMI huh!

These are Canada photos too Ay! I forced Michael and Isaac to pose for me also. No one is safe when I have my camera in hand. They tried to run, but I was persistant and in the end I prevailed. Whining is a fabulous weapon!

And last but not least, another card. The bird is actually raised off a little to give it more of a dimensional look, kind of hard to see because it was squished when I scanned it.

Thus concludes my most exciting week. It's Friday, which means I get to go play now. Byee!

It's a New Year, which means I have resolutions to break...

So here it is January 2008. I went back and checked my history posts and noticed I only had two blog entries for 2007. How pathetic is that????? What a slacker I am. So I now officially make the following resolution, that I am sure will end up by the wayside in about three months, to keep this blog updated. Keep your fingers, toes, and any other flexible body parts crossed that I stick to this.

So I will post a few things that I have worked on the last couple of months.

I guess I should mention that I finally found the time to get my hair cut. Yep, after growing it out for seven years, I had 13 inches chopped off. I kind of miss it, but I made sure to donate it to Locks of Love, so it was worth it.

There were a couple of Fridays that I didn't feel like scrapbooking so I made cards instead. I originally was making them for a "sticker challenge" that my friend Pamala had posted, but then I took it a little further and just wanted to use up the endless amount of stickers that I had accumulated over the years. They are so cute when you get them, but you never actually use them, now do ya. Well, all I can say is that it was sort of a blessing that I was having sleeping issues or else I would never had made as many as I did. These are just a few of my favorites, I think I ended up making about 30. Don't be surprised if some of you end up seeing these in person since I have to get rid of them now.

There that should tide you all until I can update my blog again. I know how riveting my life is and how each of you stay up late pondering what exciting things I will make/talk about next.

Okay, so I have been slacking.

I haven't posted a new entry since Feb. Wow! Even I was surprised at that. Well I will catch you up on what has been going on in our "oh so exciting lives". I passed my first round of the A & P class with a B, an 84% to be exact. I was so happy to be done for the summer. In June I spent as much time as I could scrapping my little heart out. Here are a few layouts and cards that I made.

There have been others made but I just don't feel like uploading them all right now. So nah!

Let's see what else have we done so far during our summer. We did just get back from a vacation to Victoria, BC. I will save all of the juicy details and photos for another day.

The suspense will keep you all wanting to come back for more. LOL

Winter Break Finally!!
I officially passed my Biology class, with an "A" even. Surprised? I am, a little and I think my grade was even better than my male lab partner. Here are some of the LO's that I promised I would upload to share with you all. They are the creations I made when I was the guest design team member in November.

The first three are from the November kit, the last blue LO, is the one that I entered into the contest. I also made a few cards, but I can't remember where I filed them right now.

Well I thought I better start posting again, since I have been told by many of you that I haven't updated in awhile.

Let's see, has there been anything exciting that has happened since I last blogged??? Yes, there is... at least it was exciting for me. There was a contest at Scrapgoods, the monthly scrapbooking kit that I get, well this contest was for a guest design team member position for the month of November. Yep, you guessed it, by some miracle in life, I won. It was a lot of fun and I amazed myself with some of the creations I came up with. I will share the LO's the next time I post.

Survival of the Fittest..
I finished a new layout and some cards this week. Nothing too fancy, just trying to kill time. This looks much better in real life. I tried several times to scan it and this is the best one. So no complaining. :-D
Here's another one. All three cards are made with my SG kit. Seems to be the only kit I have been using lately, so I dropped my other kit that I get monthly. No sense in paying for something that's not being used.

This card is really simple, and truth be told, I don't like it very much. But I am not going to stress out about it, so Nah!

And here is the lone layout that I was able to create during the week. I received these really cool stamps and chipboard flowers from a friend on my scrap board. She is from the Netherlands and for the last six months she has sent me some Amazing things. It was for a Secret Sister swap that we joined and now we are becoming greater friends. I saw this Peanuts comic in the paper and immediately thought of Claudia and how she wasn't too thrilled about James being born. It reads as follows:
You are my younger brother and I am your older sister, and that's the way it's going to be all the days of your life... And don't tell me that you never think about it...I made it for James' baby book and there is extra journaling space under the photo with the ribbon attached.

Okay, now that I have filled you in on this weeks goings on, you all can now resume your regularly scheduled lives. HA!

The Madness begins ...

This is for James baby book. So far I only have two LO's done. I need to get a move on but I am having a hard time thinking up boy pages. It was so much easier to do Claudia's book because I could make them as girly as I wanted. I have always had some difficulty with male related pages. So James forgive me if they tend to look too frilly. The papers are from a kit club that I belong to online. The technique is called Mola and for the life of me I cannot remember who created it. It is very similar to appliquing but instead of layering it on top you take away negative areas. (I think this is right??)
Anyway, I have entered it in the monthly challenges on the Scrapgoods board.

Here is one of Jacob and his new kitty Spankers. I don't think he was too eager to have his photo taken so he chose to hide behind the kitty. I think it makes the photo that much more endearing, so I took it any way. This paper is from SG too, it's their July kit.

I couldn't help but laugh at these photos. Benny so did not want his picture taken. Jake finally had to hold him down. I am just glad that my digi camera has a fast shutter speed or I would still be sitting there trying to get it taken. The papers are from August's SG kit. I love paisley and I couldn't help using some of it on this LO.

I will say it again. I need someone who lives near me to start scrapping with me. I think I have completely driven Caela and Michael insane with all of my scrap related chatter. I have made some online friends through the member boards, so I can talk to them about scrapping. It's really not as hard as people think, time consuming, but not hard.
So Steph, Vanesa, Tonya....somebody...come out and play with me!!
